This site has gone through a lot of redesigns. Ask my friends and family—it gets made fun of constantly. This redesign is my attempt to get up to date with current standards. No, it isn’t HTML 5 yet—that will come some time in the near future—but it does solve three problems that I had with the previous versions:
Actual HTML text. I have finally taken advantage of Typekit to serve up some sexy new headings set in League Gothic, a typeface from The League of Movable Type. In the past I had always used image replacement. I went through sIFR, FLIR, and even just straight up images (dark days, I know), and I finally got fed up with not being able to select my text.
An easier-to-navigate portfolio. The new portfolio design makes it quick and easy for someone to look through my work. In the past, designs had been spread across multiple pages or hidden behind sliding jQuery panels. Now the entire thing can be viewed without changing pages once—and the images are bigger too!
A blog. Pretty simple: I have always wanted one and the previous design didn’t make it easy to accommodate. Now it’s here so there is no excuse not to write. You can read my first post for more details on what this blog will be used for, and you can subscribe by RSS or follow me on Twitter for updates.
